German Ambassador Visits Conservation Workshops of the Pushkin State Museum
On Monday, 23 November, Dr Géza Andreas von Geyr, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation, and Stella Kesaeva, President of the Stella Art Foundation, visited the Objects conservation workshops of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
Igor Borodin, Head of the Museum’s Department of Conservation, and Vasily Rastorguev, Senior Research Fellow in the Old Masters Art Department, told the visitors about the progress achieved in the project Donatello and Other Renaissance Masters: Research and Conservation.
This year, despite the pandemic and consequent restrictions on their work, the Pushkin State Museum’s conservation experts have completed the conservation of five terracotta pieces. The support provided by the project’s partners allowed the museum’s experts to conduct a comprehensive study, enabling them to modify the conservation and restoration methods they use.
