The Pushkin State Museum shortlisted for 7th Art Newspaper Russia Award
The Pushkin State Museum was shortlisted for the 7th annual award by the Art Newspaper Russia in a "Restoration of the year" category for еру hard work and creative approach to the restoration and conservation of Renaissance sculptures.
The museum was nominated for the restoration of two Renaissance pieces, Donatello's John the Baptist and the Bust of Francesco del Nero by Giulio Mazzoni, both are part of a project Donatello and other Renaissanse masters: research and conservation. The final winners will be announced on March 1 at Gostiny Dvor, but the Pushkin State Museum visitors can already see the results of the conservators' work: after the restoration, the artworks became part of the permanent exhibition of the main building.
